Are you undergoing a renovation process? Or are you moving to a new home? Are you trying to downsize the items you have in your home? Or is trash piling up?
Well, what do you do about it? You can’t leave junk at your curb for the garbage truck to pick up; most waste services won’t accept items that don’t fit into the trash bin provided by them.
What Is Bulk Trash?
Bulk trash is more than five bags of trash, electrical machinery, old and ragged furniture, broken furniture, wood and machines, heavy items, yard waste, construction debris, and other things that one person cannot easily remove. These types of items are not taken away by the garbage collection companies, but they require proper disposal methods.
Here are some ways of disposing of trash in bulk:
1. Rent A Dumpster
Renting a dumpster is an excellent option if you have enough time to do the job independently. You need to call the dumpster rental company and tell them about the amount and size of the trash. Most companies have three sizes of dumpsters. Once the rate is fixed, you can tell them the number of days you will need the dumpster. The dumpster will be dropped off at your location, and you can throw all the trash you want into the dumpster. When you are done, you can call the company to pick up the dumpster. The only drawback is that you will have to move and load the heavy trash yourself.
2. Dispose Of At A Landfill
You will need to rent a truck and load all the items you want to throw away in it for this option. This will also involve 3 to 4 trips to and from the landfill area if you have a large amount of trash. After that, you will have to pay the landfill fee and the dumping fee, and don’t forget the fuel cost.
3. Get It Recycled
You can take the trash to recycling companies and have it recycled. This way, you will help in conserving resources for the future and not waste precious metals. Take only the recyclables as other things will be discarded.
4. Donate It
If you don’t know what to do with your unwanted items that are still in good shape, you can donate them to charity centers. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. What may not be useful to you may be useful to others. Call your local charity ahead of time to make sure they will take your items. These centers will usually tell you when and where to drop everything off. But make sure these items are not broken and can still be used.
5. Hire A Junk Removal Company
If you are busy or don’t have the proper equipment to haul the trash on your own, hire a junk removal company! They will charge according to the size and quantity of the bulk junk & trash. They take almost everything except hazardous liquids, materials, and cleaning products. They will load up and haul away all the heavy trash and furniture themselves, responsibly dispose of it at the landfills, and take the recyclables to the recycling companies.
